Hajj Bhavan is one of the commercial complexes where we put up full-height MS scaffolding. Here is how we approached a building with a decorative façade, and what to plan for a job like it.
The job at Hajj Bhavan
At Hajj Bhavan we scaffolded across the commercial complex, with MS scaffolding running up the full height of the building so the finishing work could be done from one continuous structure.
Working around a decorative façade
The front of the building has arched windows and patterned panels. Finishes like these are easy to damage, so the scaffolding has to be set with enough clearance, and the points where it is tied to the building have to be chosen carefully.
Why full-height MS scaffolding
For a tall commercial frontage, MS scaffolding is the practical choice. It carries the load for longer jobs, follows the line of the building and gives every floor a firm working platform, so painters, plasterers and finishing crews can work without moving the structure.
What we plan before building
- Height and width of the face to be covered, and any projections.
- The finishes on the building, so we know where to keep clear.
- Access. Entrances and the street side may need to stay open.
- Tie points and bracing that keep the structure stable without harming the façade.
- Duration. Commercial complexes usually run on a monthly rental.
